A Hard Days's Night :
40TH ANNIVERSARY COMMEMORATED BY RE-LAUNCH OF ACCLAIMED DVD

It Will Be Forty Years Ago That Day….

Tuesday July 6th is the 40th anniversary of the World Premiere of the Beatles' first film - "A Hard Day's Night" - directed by Richard Lester. Unprecedented for a "pop" film - it received two Academy Award nominations. The premiere took place at the now-defunct London Pavilion in Piccadilly Circus amid riotous fan scenes.

The film was as critically-acclaimed as it was commercially-successful - and elevated the Beatles from their superstar status into a stratospheric popularity which grew throughout the 1960's. (In defiance of the laws of celebrity physics - the Beatles still maintain astonishing popularity over 34 years after their break-up.)

The film's ground-breaking visual style was also the inspiration for music video and the development of MTV. (MTV recently presented director Richard Lester with a certificate declaring him "The Father of Music Video." Lester responded by demanding a paternity test!).

To celebrate this landmark anniversary - Miramax Home Entertainment has arranged a Special Re-Launch of the acclaimed DVD Edition of the film - which features a bonus disc presenting 7 hours of supplemental material - including no less than 30 exclusive new interviews with members of the cast and crew - and key Beatles associates.
